TEENAGE MUSICIANS WHO GIVE HOPE AND SHOW IMAGINATION

The Friendly Atheist on his April 25 substack exposed the story about "Indiana Lt. Gov faces backlash after calling the Westfield High School percussion band kids 'demonic.'" Take a look at the video of the band's amazing competitive performance at the recent State Finals for percussionists, on YouTube.

Yet the crazed Lt. Governor Micah Beckwith said that "'schools like Westfield LOVE giving the [middle finger emoji] to Christian Conservative families of our community.' He then urged parents to use taxpayer-funded vouchers to get their kids out of public high schools."

Beckwith is obviously part of the Christofascist Nationalists who under the current political regime and direction, want to foist their view of "Christianity" into government -- as our Founding Fathers never intended.

I found a document from The Granite Freeman in Concord, NH, May 22,1845, that reported on George Washington's long-time house slave Ona Maria Judge, who said she "never head him pray."

Then I located a letter by Washington to the United Baptist Churches of Virginia, May 1789,wherein he says "I beg you will be persuaded that no one would be more zealous than myself to establish effectual barriers against the horrors of spiritual tyranny and every species of religious persecution..." and went on to say that every "man" (I hope he also meant woman but I cannot be sure of that) ought to be protected in worshiping according to the dictates of his own conscience."

Nothing about "good Christian men" or "the dictates of the Christian Bible." Not one word. Washington knew what was right and just.

Beckwith however, wants more than one word. He is doing nothing but harassing these amazing, "resilient" as their bad leader called them, talented young men and women. To boot and to support his position, this uneducated dolt screwed up the alleged plot of the classic opera "Carmen" which he apparently thinks is part of the worship of "satanism."

At least the Westfield Mayor Scott Willis put out a statement celebrating the team’s achievements, but sadly without directly addressing anything Beckwith said.

The Friendly Atheist says that "A responsible, sane politician would congratulate the students for their hard work and the staff for their time and commitment. But Beckwith is a conservative Christian whose religion teaches him to be an asshole at every turn."

I'll go with that.

Congrats "The Red Line"! May you live long, graduate, and continue your musical careers for a long, prosperous time to come!
